Praying through the Book of Acts in 28 Days

Is the fire of Pentecost burning in your heart?

1. For empowered witnessing. “We shall received power…and ye shall be witnesses” (Acts 1:8).

2. For a spirit of “one accord” to prevail among the churches. “When the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1).

3. For the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. “I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh” (Acts 2:17).

4. For the fear of the Lord to rest on the church. “and fear came upon every soul” (Acts 2:43).

5. For boldness in Jesus’ name. “Such as I have give I thee: In the Name of Jesus…” (Acts 3:6).

5 Reasons Why I am Thrilled That Pentecost is a Thing of the Past

Tags :

That’s right! I am thrilled, absolutely thrilled that Pentecost is a thing of the past.

I could give you tons of reasons why I feel that way, but my post would be way too long, so I’ll just give you five reasons. Every time I think about the fact that Pentecost is a thing of the past I want to do the happy dance.

Here’s my top five reasons.

1. Because that means the Father has fulfilled His Promise to send precious Holy Spirit.

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. John 16:7

Jesus promised to send precious Holy Spirit when He returned to His Father. Pentecost is the fulfillment of that promise! He sent precious Holy Spirit like He said He would! I am so thankful He did!

2. Because Holy Spirit arrived to fill believers on the day of Pentecost, I can personally experience the fullness of Pentecost. You can too!

For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” Acts 2:39

May the Fellowship Be With You

Tags :

Do you have a verse that thrills you and yet challenges you to your very core?

2 Corinthians 13:14 does that for me. NLT “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

Star Wars gave us the quote, “May the Force be with you.” But Paul encourages believers to receive and embrace not a force or a power, but the reality of the personality and presence of God. Jesus. God the Father. Holy Spirit. Grace. Love. Fellowship. What an awesome  picture of the Trinity at work in a believer’s life. As  a believer, we are born into God’s family by the saving grace of Jesus. We blossom in the love of God, but way too many believers seem to recoil or even back off at the mention of the words “Holy Spirit.”

That choice leaves a void, a lack of spiritual energy. I believe He is “the something”, “that secret ingredient” so to speak, that is missing in so many people’s lives! People try to muster the faith or work up the strength to “be a good Christian.” We hear the question, “Why can’t I kick this habit?” or “Why do I get so angry?” or “Why do I feel so empty? I’m a Christian. What is missing?”
