Power is a Big Deal!
Sometimes we forget all the things we use that require power. Just let it go off for an hour, or even worse days, then you will remember very quickly how important power is. We are praying for the folks that just went through Hurricane Florence. It is estimated that 3 million home have been without power in North and South Carolina. Almost everything uses some kind of power.
You need God’s Power
As a matter of fact, you are more like a vacuum cleaner than you realize! That’s right! I don’t care how much you push your vacuum cleaner across the floor, it’s not gonna suck up anything unless it’s plugged into the power.
And You were designed for power.
You will never be all God intended until you plug into His power, And I’m not just talking about big things. God wants to help you with the little ordinary things in your life. Access His wisdom, His grace, His love and power for the little things that you’ve convinced yourself that you don’t need any help with. Proverbs 3:6 KJV 2000 “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.”
You need God’s power to…
be like Jesus
do the works of Jesus.
It’s a Big deal to God.
The word dunamis, which means power, strength, might and ability, shows up 120 times in the New Testament. So power is a big deal!
Training is important. Jesus spent over three years teaching, training and developing his disciples, but that wasn’t enough. He told them to wait until they were endued with power.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NIV
You Were Made For Power
That’s right. Just like a …
Hair Dryer or
Power Tool or even a
It’s not a defect.
Power tools were designed that way. A power tool comes with everything it needs to accomplish the tasks it was made for except, and this is a huge exception, except one thing—POWER. You have to plug them in or insert the battery. Power tools need power.
You’ll never stop needing power.
You will never get so wise, or strong or independent that you won’t need God in your life. Christianity is not one more self-help program. It is a relationship—a divine partnership.
God’s Power is Available, but not automatic
It must be accessed!
How do we access God’s power?
- The powerful truth remains a fact, “We have not because we ask not.”
- Mix your prayer with faith.
- Do what God tells you to do. The strength flows as you need it. As you access it with obedience. Obedience is the “Switch” that turns on God’s power.
Just a reminder.
Don’t wait until you get to the end of your strength to access His. As a believer we have constant access to limitless strength.
God bless you!
